Penske is hiring an entry-level Diesel Technician/Mechanic III in South Portland, ME. You’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet, learning Penske’s maintenance processes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Ability to solve problems and use tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outdoors.
• Basic computer skills and compliance with safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and ensures vehicle safety for customers.
• Uses Penske tools/tech to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Performs preventative maintenance and component lubrication on gas/diesel engines.
• Learns new skills through trainer coaching and Penske's programs.
• Works on additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
