Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in Pell City, AL is seeking a skilled Technician to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. You’ll log diagnostics, replace tires, and support safety-focused service on gas and diesel engines.

We train you with Penske's technician programs and provide hands-on coaching, modern shop tools, and opportunities for career growth. A high school diploma and basic mechanical aptitude are required; 1–2 years in auto repair preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid drivers license.
• The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• The associate must understand and comply with Penske policies including safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Using Penske's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Performing preventative maintenance repairs such as tire replacements and wear checks, plus lubrication and component replacement on gas/diesel engines.
• Collaborating with management to learn new skills through training and hands-on coaching.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
