Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. in Madison, AL is seeking a Technician to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet.

You will log work, use Penske tools, and learn our maintenance processes on a variety of equipment. You'll train through Penske's certification programs, work a second-shift schedule (Tuesday-Saturday), and join a team that prioritizes safety, reliability, and career growth in a stable, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Team player who can work outdoors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must follow DOT/OSHA safety policies and Penske safety rules.
• Willingness to pass background checks, drug screen, and DOT requirements.
• Ability to travel within nearby geography for training.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and ensuring vehicles are safe for customers.
• Using Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Performing preventative maintenance and part replacements on gas/diesel vehicles.
• Learning new skills through Penske technician training and coaching.
• Taking on additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
