Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to solve problems and use tools
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and outside
  • Basic computer skills
  • Understanding and compliance with Penske safety policies (DOT/OSHA)
  • Willingness to travel for training if needed

Responsibilities

  • Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
  • Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotation and lubrication, some electrical system and cooling system maintenance on gas/diesel engines
  • Partner with manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching
  • Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
