Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Diesel Technician to service and repair trucks across our network. The role focuses on diagnosing and overhauling gas and diesel engines, installing major components, and ensuring safety standards are met.

We value candidates with 1–2 years of Class 7 & 8 technician experience, a valid driver's license, and CDL/Medical card preferred. Expect competitive pay and opportunities for growth across 200+ locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and other parts.
• Read job orders and assess vehicles to plan work procedures.
• Inspect safety devices and make adjustments as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify conformance to specs.
• Attend training and stay current with factory bulletins.
• Develop positive relationships with customers to increase satisfaction.
