Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is hiring a skilled technician to overhaul gas and diesel engines and perform comprehensive truck repairs. You will service vehicles, read job orders, and ensure safety checks are completed. The role offers growth, ongoing OEM training, and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with insurability per company policy.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, and/or ASE certifications are preferred and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pan, clutches, brakes, and transmissions.
• Read job orders and observe vehicle operation to determine malfunctions and plan procedures.
• Examine safety devices on trucks and make adjustments as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and road-test repaired vehicles to verify conformance to specs.
• Tag warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk.
• Attend training classes and keep abreast of factory bulletins.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers.
