Job summary

First Student is hiring a Diesel Technician for our shop serving Villa Park. The role is a full-time day shift, Monday–Friday, with hours 7:00am-4:30pm or 7:30am-5:00pm. You will maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability in our community.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience, or equivalent technical school education and experience.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities for vehicle systems.
• Willingness to obtain CDL Class B and participate in ASE testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of maintenance including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains and clutches.
• Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual inspections.
• Complete work orders accurately.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
