Job summary

First Student, Inc. is hiring a Diesel Technician for our shop serving Niles Community Schools. The position offers a Monday–Friday day shift (8:00am–5:00pm), with pay dependent on experience, and company-paid ASE testing and CDL Class B training.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and repairing diesel or automotive systems.
• Ability to diagnose and solve mechanical issues efficiently.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmissions, and related components.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections; complete work orders accurately.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
