Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Farmingdale, NY. The role offers hourly pay, training, and comprehensive benefits in a gear-forward maintenance environment.

You will work first shift with a Monday–Friday schedule and weekends off, gaining opportunities for certifications and paid training while contributing to the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Two years of combined classroom training or work experience preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause of failures and performs repairs as needed.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to clarify the issue.
• Uses shop management system and electronic documentation.
• Adheres to safety and regulatory guidelines (DOT, MOT).
• Performs other support duties to assist operations.
