Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Grand Island, NE is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to service heavy‑duty vehicles. The position offers weekly pay, full benefits after 30 days, and a Monday–Friday schedule with weekends off.

Starting pay is $25.50 per hour and a CDL is preferred for advancement. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic systems, and document work using the shop system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification post secondary degree or technical certifications preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventive maintenance.
• Two years or more of related experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred; ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Documents work performed in the shop management system.
• Ensures compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Performs other support duties to assist operations.
