Job summary

Dollar General Fleet is hiring Diesel Technicians for their Blair, NE location. Expect $24.00–$35.00 per hour with weekly pay, a comprehensive benefits package, and company-provided tools.

Paid vacation and holidays, plus access to the newest technology and equipment, are included. At least 1 year on Class A trucks and proficiency with air brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working on Class A trucks.
• Experience with air brakes, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience required.
• Tire repair experience preferred.
• Perform DOT inspections and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair truck and trailer components such as doors, floors, side panels, electrical and air brake systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tractor and trailer equipment, including routine repairs and repair orders.
• Maintain repairs to maximize safety and reliability on fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, lift-gates, and any company-owned equipment.
• Abide by all company policies and safety rules and help maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues.
• Maintain repairs for Class 8 trucks, trailers and yard tractors.
• Safely operate gauges, forklifts, shunt trucks, torches, grinders, and various hand and power safety tools.
