Job summary

Casella Waste Systems is seeking a Diesel Technician Apprentice in Taft Corners, Vermont. You will train alongside an experienced Casella Diesel Technician to learn maintenance, repairs, and preventative tasks, focusing on safety and reliability of our fleet.

Starting pay ranges from $23 to $25 per hour. You will perform tasks under supervision, assist senior technicians on projects, practice proper lockout/tagout, and partake in training opportunities to grow into future technician roles.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; must be 18+ and hold a valid driver’s license.
Basic knowledge in automotive, diesel or heavy equipment diagnostics and repair.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and physical stamina.

Responsibilities

Learn basic parts, processes, and maintenance techniques under supervision.
Perform maintenance tasks and routine vehicle repairs as instructed.
Complete work orders and conduct driver pre/post trip inspections.
Assist senior technicians on maintenance and project tasks.
Learn lockout/tagout procedures and safety policies.
Join training opportunities to expand knowledge of company products and services.
