Job summary

Casella Waste is hiring a Diesel Technician Apprentice in Montpelier, VT. You will work with a skilled technician to learn maintenance, perform repairs on vehicles and equipment, and focus on preventive maintenance to keep operations safe and reliable.

The position starts at $25 per hour with a $2,000 annual tool allowance. Preference will be given to candidates who can work 2nd shift. You will gain hands-on experience and training to progress along a defined technician career path.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must hold a valid Class A, B, or C Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist with maintenance tasks under supervision.
• Complete work orders and maintenance tasks based on inspections.
• Follow safety policies and assist senior technicians on projects.
• Identify defects affecting equipment availability and operator safety.
• Perform brake, hydraulic, tire, and component adjustments as needed.
• Participate in training and development opportunities.

Education

Valid Driver’s license (Class A/B/C)
