Casella Waste Systems, Inc. seeks a Diesel Technician Apprentice to join our Plattsburgh, NY team. You will work with a skilled Diesel Technician to learn maintenance, repairs and preventative care for vehicles and equipment.

The position starts at $26 per hour and emphasizes safety and hands-on training, progressing through defined career levels as you gain skills and complete training requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic knowledge of automotive/diesel/heavy equipment diagnostics and repair preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn parts, processes and maintenance techniques from experienced technicians.
• Complete work orders and perform maintenance tasks from inspections in a timely manner.
• Follow safety policies to ensure safe vehicle and equipment operations.
• Assist senior technicians on preventative maintenance and larger projects.
