Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Houston to maintain and repair class 6–8 diesel equipment, trucks, and trailers. You will inspect and service equipment, diagnose issues, and ensure adherence to DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations.

The role requires 2 years of hands‑on experience or a technical degree with certification, welding skills, and a valid license. Company benefits include uniforms, tool allowance, and health coverage from day one.

Qualifications

• 2 years of tractor/trailer inspection and repair experience or a tech school with certification
• EPA HVAC Refrigerant Recovery Certification required within 90 days of hire
• Valid driver’s license required
• Brake inspection qualification as per FMCSA 396.25
• Vehicle inspection qualification per FMCSA 396.19
• Welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG, ARC) and mechanical skills
• Available for days, evenings, nights, weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on class 6–8 diesel equipment
• Inspect, repair, or rebuild vehicle systems as needed
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs
• Ensure DOT, EPA, OSHA compliance and safety inspections
• Move trailers and operate hostler in various weather
• Record job times and parts on repair orders
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area
• Interact with operations and shop management
