Job summary

XPO is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Houston, TX. You will perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy-duty equipment, including diesel engines and HVAC systems.

The role requires wrenching on class 6–8 equipment, safety compliance, and team collaboration. Eligible experienced technicians can earn up to $41.03/hour with master certification and shift differentials; includes uniforms, tool allowance, comprehensive benefits, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Two years of tractor/trailer inspection and repair experience or tech school with heavy-duty maintenance certification
• EPA HVAC Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification within 90 days of hire (ASE/MACS)
• Valid driver’s license required
• Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG, ARC)
• Basic hand tools for heavy-duty maintenance
• Basic computer skills for shop systems
• Brake inspection per FMCSA 396.25
• Vehicle inspection per FMCSA 396.19
• Willing to work days, evenings, nights, weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on class 6–8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing gear
• Inspect and repair equipment and components
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues and perform repairs
• Repair HVAC systems and ensure compliance with rules
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area
• Interact with operations and shop management
