Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform diagnostic and repair tasks on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems. You will service customers and support drivers on routes with state-of-the-art equipment.

The role covers engine, HVAC, suspension, and brakes, with on-site and roadside service responsibilities. Prior experience or graduation from an automotive program is preferred, with a valid driver’s license

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• 3–5 years of experience in a technician role or recent graduation from automotive college/technical school within 3 months.
• Valid driver’s license is required or strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and performs preventative and repair maintenance on chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Repairs brakes, suspensions, steering, HVAC, and drive train components.
• Performs line welding and fabrication; provides road service when needed.
• Identifies malfunctions using electronic tools and completes company training programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
