Job summary

Performance Foodservice seeks a skilled technician to diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units. The role requires documenting repairs, performing road calls as needed, and maintaining compliance with state and federal trucking regulations.

The position offers a 4-day work week (Thu–Sat 5:30 pm–5:30 am; Wed 11:30 pm–5:30 am), an annual sign-on bonus of $5,000, and benefits from Day 1, with opportunities for growth within a major food-distribution network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5-7 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair experience.
• 2+ years of experience in A/C refrigeration.
• Experience with PMs, tires & wheels, air brakes, diagnostics, and electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units and diagnose basic failures.
• Inspect brakes, steering, wheel bearings, and other critical components for safety.
• Ensure roadworthiness with proper licensing and registration.
• Document all repairs and PMs in the online system.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
• Utilize hand and power tools to complete repairs.
• Train other employees and perform related duties as assigned.
