Job summary

Performance Foodservice seeks a fleet technician to diagnose and repair medium to heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, and reefer units with minimal supervision. The role ensures compliance with state and federal trucking regulations and requires thorough work-order documentation daily.

Road call services may be required. A High School Diploma/GED is required and 5–7 years of repair experience are preferred, including A/C refrigeration expertise and diagnostic capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of proven medium to heavy‑duty vehicle repair.
• 5+ years of PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, electronic troubleshooting.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in A/C refrigeration.

Responsibilities

• Complete and perform preventative maintenance on fleet diesel equipment and inspect components, identifying root causes of basic failures.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical parts for proper operation and potential replacements.
• Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to roadworthiness.
• Document repairs and preventive maintenance in the Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
• Use hand tools and power tools to service equipment and machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, lubrication.
• Train other employees.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
