Thermo King Northeast in Buffalo, NY is hiring a full-time 2nd shift Diesel Technician. The role involves preventive maintenance and diagnostic repairs on medium and heavy-duty vehicles, with a scheduled 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM shift at our Buffalo location.

Requirements include a high school diploma or technical training, at least 5 years of automotive repair experience, and a valid NY driver’s license. Tools and computer proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, technical school, or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of automotive, truck, or bus repair.
• Valid driver’s license & New York State motor vehicle inspector certificate (preferred, but not required).
• Tools & Equipment: Own and maintain the proper hand tools to perform job functions.
• Skills & Competencies: Proficient with computer operation and usage.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and service inspections on a variety of medium and heavy-duty vehicles
• Performs diagnostic and repair work on all types of vehicles
• Follow established technical & administrative processes
• Complete repair orders & parts usage forms
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, team members & customers
• Remain current on technical & regulation requirements
• Perform road service calls as required

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, twist, stand, walk, and work in and around vehicles for extended periods.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely.
