Job summary

Cummins Inc. in White Bear Lake, MN, is seeking a Diesel Technician to perform engine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs in a service shop setting.

You will keep detailed service records and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies, while pursuing ongoing training for Cummins products. The position is primarily on-site with some flexibility, requiring own tools and compliance with licensing where applicable.

Job description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in White Bear Lake, MN.

In this role will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

• Maintain own tools

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics

• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality

• Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.

• Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.

• Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.

• Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software

Compensation and Benefits: Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Minimal level of work shop experience required

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

• This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

-Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

• A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire

• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

• A current valid license is required for this role

• Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience

• This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
