Qualifications

  • Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
  • Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred).
  • Collaborates with service leaders, parts personnel, and fellow technicians to prioritize work, optimize shop throughput, and meet customer delivery commitments while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Conducts post-repair inspections, operational testing, and quality checks to verify repairs are completed correctly, ensuring equipment is returned to the customer in a reliable and service-ready condition.

Job description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Miami Lakes, FL

You will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Completes complex internal engine repairs

  • Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls

  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools

  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components

  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

  • A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire

  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
