Job summary

DATTCO is seeking a full-time diesel technician for its School Bus Fleet Maintenance department. The role includes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet of school buses serving CT and RI.

Training opportunities and progression paths are offered within a family-oriented company. Candidates should have a high school diploma, at least one year in automotive/truck/bus repair, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a CDL license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one-year experience in automotive, truck or bus repair.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Driver’s license.
• Hold or be eligible to possess a CDL license.
• Hold or be willing to work toward ASE certifications.
• Possess the physical strength to safely perform all required tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and service inspections on a variety of vehicles.
• Perform diagnostic and repair work on all types of vehicles.
• Complete required paperwork with regards to repair orders and parts usage.
• Make road calls.
• Own and maintain the proper hand tools to perform job functions.
• Follow orders of the shop foreman or other supervisor.
