Job summary

DATTCO in Connecticut is hiring a full-time diesel technician for the School Bus Fleet Maintenance department. The team performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a large fleet of school buses across multiple districts. A CDL or eligibility, ASE certifications, and a valid driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, trade school or equivalent.
• Minimum of one-year experience in the field of automotive, truck or bus repair.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform hands-on repairs.
• Driver’s license required and CDL license eligibility encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and service inspections on a variety of vehicles.
• Perform diagnostic and repair work on all types of vehicles.
• Complete required paperwork with regards to repair orders and parts usage.
• Make road calls.
• Own and maintain the proper hand tools to perform job functions.
• Follow orders of the shop foreman or other supervisor.
