Job summary

True North Fleet Services is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to support fleet uptime with preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and quality repairs on diesel equipment. This role works in a shop setting, with a focus on teamwork and professional growth in Kenner, LA.

You’ll perform PMs on heavy-duty trucks, diagnose engine and electrical issues, and document repairs. ASE certifications and a valid CDL are preferred; willingness to obtain is acceptable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of diesel maintenance experience required or preferred.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus, not required).
• ASE TSeries certifications preferred or willingness to obtain.

• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on heavyduty trucks and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, brake systems, suspension, steering, and electrical components.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic issues.
• Complete DOT inspections and ensure compliance standards are met.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with drivers, service advisors, and shop leadership.

At Total Tire Solutions, with our trusted partner, True North Fleet Services are looking for an experienced Diesel Technician. This role supports fleet uptime through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, quality repairs on diesel equipment and mobile fleet service.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on heavyduty trucks and trailers
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, brake systems, suspension, steering, and electrical components
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic issues
• Complete DOT inspections and ensure compliance standards are met
• Accurately document repairs and maintenance activities
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Collaborate with drivers, service advisors, and shop leadership

Qualifications

• 3+ years of diesel maintenance experience preferred (fleet, dealership, independent, or light mechanical shop)
• Mobile experience preferred, but not required for a shop technician
• ASE TSeries certifications preferred (T2, T4, T5, T6, T8) or willingness to obtain
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus, not required)
