The Diesel Technician maintains diesel equipment, completes inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, corrects vehicle deficiencies, performs adjustments and alignments, and maintains records to ensure our commitment to safety and customer service.

Technician Apprentice: Demonstrates ability to work alongside a knowledgeable Casella Waste Diesel Technician to learn and develop skills. Focuses on maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance to ensure vehicle and equipment safety.
Technician B: Able to identify operating issues through examination, test driving, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems using standard testing procedures and diagnostic equipment. Corrects issues as needed.
Technician A: Capable of inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing vehicle systems including brakes, suspension, steering, tires, hydraulics, engine, and more to ensure safe and dependable operation.
Master Technician: Skilled in inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing all vehicle and equipment systems, including rebuilding engines, transmissions, and hydraulic components.
The candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, hold a valid Class A, B, or C driver’s license, and be legally eligible to work in the United States. A minimum of 1-year experience in inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trucks and stationary equipment is required. Excellent communication, listening, problem-solving skills, and a team-oriented attitude are desired. Successful completion of pre-employment testing, including a drug screen, is mandatory.
