Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Level 1 Technician for our Truck Service team in Gary, IN. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers, delivering reliable service to travelers and fleet customers.

You’ll work with a large, skilled team, follow safety guidelines, and use your basic computer skills to document work. A valid driver’s license and prior truck service experience are preferred; ASE certs are a plus.

Qualifications

• Dedicated individual who works well with others
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Prior verifiable truck service experience
• Heavy duty ASE certifications not required, but a plus
• Basic computer skills
• A valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Work in a fun, trusting environment focused on providing great service where the expectations of the customer are exceeded
• Have extensive knowledge of the products we sell and the services we provide
• Diagnose wear conditions and together with TSA or Manager, makes recommendations to customers
• Complete repairs within their capabilities and as written
• Understand Truck Service Standard Services andspecialized customer programs
• Follow safety guidelines and reports potentially unsafe situations caused by team members and/or customers.
