Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair, and service heavy-duty trucks and trailers. You will perform tests, interpret results, and develop repair plans in coordination with the Service Advisor.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus trade school or manufacturer’s tech training. A flexible schedule including nights and weekends is expected, with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; trade school or tech school graduate preferred.
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge via education and training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised in a team environment.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed.
• Must meet physical requirements with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers to industry standards.
• Perform diagnostic testing, interpret results, and communicate repair plans to the Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and electrical or mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and promote safety for customers and staff.
• Promote TA services during inspections and engage customers about additional needs.
