Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy duty trucks and trailers. You will develop repair plans and communicate them to the Service Advisor, while performing repairs safely and efficiently within our standards.

The role requires high school diploma or GED, willingness to learn, ability to work unsupervised, and flexible hours including nights and weekends in various conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; trade/technical school or simple mechanic experience preferred.
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge via education and training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised and manage time effectively.
• Flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays; physical tasks may require accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot heavy duty trucks and trailers; interpret results and propose repair plans.
• Perform repairs safely, efficiently, and to industry standards; document actions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
• Recommend additional TA services during inspection reviews.
• Ensure safety of customers and employees at all times.
