Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair heavy‑duty trucks and trailers. You will work in a fast-paced shop, communicating repair plans to the Service Advisor and completing repairs to high standards.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, with trade school or mechanic program training preferred. You should be able to work unsupervised, and flex hours including nights and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Trade school or manufacturer’s technical training preferred.
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge via training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised and handle flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy‑duty trucks and trailers.
• Perform diagnostic testing and develop a repair plan with the Service Advisor.
• Complete repairs safely, effectively and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Suggest additional TA services during inspections.
• Ensure safety of customers and employees.
