Job summary

Rush Enterprises is seeking a Diesel Shop Foreman Technician in Houston, TX to lead a team of diesel mechanics, coordinate repair work, and ensure high-quality workmanship. The role offers strong growth opportunities within a large US dealership network.

You will recruit and develop staff with support from the Service Manager, assign tasks by skill, and provide technical guidance. A background in supervision and diesel technology is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years' related shop and technician supervision experience is required.
• Insurability with Company's carrier is required.
• Preferred certifications include ASE Master, Diamond, Cat, Cummins, Eaton, Fuller, or other manufacturer certifications.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified diesel mechanics.
• Assist diesel mechanics in developing their skills with support of the Service Manager.
• Schedule repair work and assign technicians to mechanical segments matching their skill level to ensure quality.
• Ensure repairs are assigned to mechanics in an equal and fair manner.
• Provide technical support for mechanics when necessary.
• Check progress (W-I-P) of each repair order throughout the day.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks; conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for quality.
• Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
• Monitor mechanics' daily productivity reports and payroll records.
