Job summary

Rush Truck Leasing in Houston seeks a Foreman to lead a team of diesel mechanics in the service department. You will recruit, train, and supervise mechanics, assign repair work, and ensure repairs are performed correctly and efficiently.

You’ll provide technical support, monitor progress, road-test vehicles, and uphold safety and quality. A CDL, ASE Master and other manufacturer certifications are preferred, with pay between USD 65,000 and 69,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Two years related shop and technician supervision experience.
• CDL and insurability with Company’s carrier.
• ASE Master Certification program; Diamond Certification; Cat, Cummins, Eaton, Fuller or other manufacturer certifications.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified diesel mechanics.
• Assist mechanics in developing their skills with support of the Service Manager.
• Schedule repair work and assign technicians to segments matching their skill level.
• Ensure repairs are assigned to mechanics in an equal and fair manner.
• Provide technical support for mechanics when necessary.
• Check progress (W-I-P) of each repair order throughout the day.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks; conduct spot checks for thoroughness and quality.
• Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
• Monitor mechanics’ daily productivity reports and payroll records.
