Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC (MHC Kenworth) is seeking a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty mechanical repairs under supervision and in a development program toward Service Journeyman status. The role covers engines, fuel, electrical, transmissions, cooling, chassis, brakes, and general maintenance with hands-on learning.

Qualifications include CDL preferred, 3+ years hands-on or vocational training, and required A/C, Brake, and DOT inspector certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience by working on items with minimal supervision: engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
