Murphy-Hoffman Company, a leading Kenworth truck dealership group, is hiring a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic for its Salina, KS location. The role involves heavy-duty mechanical repair, with on-the-job training to achieve Service Journeyman status, and responsibilities ranging from engine work to minor diagnostics.

Qualified candidates have CDL preferred, 3+ years hands-on experience or vocational training, and specific A/C, Brake, and DOT Inspector certifications.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs general mechanical duties with minimal supervision.
• Works on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and maintenance.
• Performs troubleshooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safe work practices and seeks assistance when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
