Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is expanding and has an opening for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. The role performs heavy-duty mechanical repair under general supervision and offers on-the-job training to achieve Service Journeyman status.

You will work on engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, and general maintenance, with opportunities for career growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs and assists in general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience on engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components under supervision.
• Performs troubleshooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safety practices and uses safety equipment.
