Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is seeking a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty mechanical repairs under supervision and participate in a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status. Safety-sensitive role with on-the-job training and potential for internal promotion.

Qualified applicants will have CDL preferred, 3+ years hands-on experience or vocational training, and required A/C, brake and DOT inspector certifications. Tools are the employee's responsibility.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience by working on engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, seeks assistance when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
