Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC (MHC) is hiring a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty repairs under general supervision and participate in a development program toward Service Journeyman status.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs and/or assists in general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis and brakes.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area and proper handling of tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safe work practices and procedures and seeks assistance when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
