Job summary

The Larson Group Peterbilt is looking for a Diesel Service Technician Apprentice to join our dynamic team in Lowell, AR. This role performs supervised heavy-duty truck repairs and diagnostics to ensure equipment is safe and roadworthy.

Learn hands-on maintenance, document repair steps, and communicate with the Service Foreman about parts and safety. A Class A CDL is required or obtainable, with opportunities for advancement through ongoing Peterbilt training and career development.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma is required.
  • Trade school or college credential preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
  • Motor Vehicle Record must meet company guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment with supervision.
  • Follow safety rules and company policies at all times.
  • Notify Service Foreman about unavailable parts for repairs.
  • Download and save engine files and diagnostic data for repairs.
  • Record detailed troubleshooting steps and repair results.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and manage tools properly.
  • Communicate special instructions to the next shift’s technicians.
  • Meet efficiency and productivity goals set by the Service Manager.
  • Maintain Peterbilt online training percentage at 95%.
  • Perform other duties and repairs as assigned.

Job description

The Larson Group Peterbilt is looking for anDiesel Service Technician, Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This position performs with supervision all functions of heavy-duty truck repair mechanics, repairs, and diagnostics.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs diagnostic/mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components. Testing when completed to ensure repairs are completed properly..
  • Follow safety rules and company policies always.
  • Communicate to Service Foreman regarding parts that are not available for repairs.
  • Download and save to Paccar Solutions/Decisiv: all pictures, engine files (before and after repair), and diagnostic test used to perform repair.
  • Record in detail, the description of all trouble shooting steps and results of repairs made and any other information about the repair.
  • Save all warrantable parts. Tag, wash, box and turn in to correct location. Labels the box with repair order number, S/N, customer name and date.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area. Clean and return tools used.
  • Advise the following shift's technicians with any special instructions or concerns you found when repairing truck.
  • Maintain efficiency and productivity goals set forth by Service Manager.
  • Maintain Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
  • Obtain class A or B CDL and retain during employment.
  • Perform other duties and repairs as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Should possess a High School diploma.
  • A college degree or a certificate or degree from a trade school is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Must Possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
  • Motor Vehicle Record adheres to TLG MVR Guidelines.
