Job summary

The Larson Group Peterbilt in North Carolina seeks an experienced Diesel Service Technician to join our heavy-duty truck repair team. You will diagnose, repair, and test systems on Peterbilt equipment under minimal supervision, while maintaining safety and following procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Trade school certificate or degree preferred.
• CDL Class A license either possessed or obtainable.
• Experience in heavy-duty truck repair is preferred but not required.
• Motor Vehicle Record adheres to company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment.
• Test repairs to ensure proper function and safety.
• Follow safety rules and company policies at all times.
• Inform Service Foreman about unavailable parts for repairs.
• Document troubleshooting steps and repair results in detail.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and tools.
• Share special instructions with the next shift's technicians.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

The Larson Group Peterbilt is looking for an experienced Diesel Service Technician to join our dynamic team. This position performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair mechanic under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Performs diagnostic/mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components. Testing when completed to ensure repairs are completed properly.
• Follow safety rules and company policies always.
• Communicate to Service Foreman regarding parts that are not available for repairs.
• Download and save to Paccar Solutions/Decisiv: all pictures, engine files (before and after repair), and diagnostic test used to perform repair.
• Record in detail, the description of all trouble shooting steps and results of repairs made and any other information about the repair.
• Save all warrantable parts. Tag, wash, box and turn in to correct location. Labels the box with repair order number, S/N, customer name and date.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area. Clean and return tools used.
• Advise the following shift's technicians with any special instructions or concerns you found when repairing truck.
• Maintain efficiency and productivity goals set forth by Service Manager.
• Maintain Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
• Obtain class A or B CDL and retain during employment.
• Perform other duties and repairs as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Should possess a High School diploma.
• A college degree or a certificate or degree from a trade school is preferred, but not required.
• Experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
• Must Possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
• Motor Vehicle Record adheres to TLG MVR Guidelines.
