Job summary

The Larson Group Peterbilt is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Service Technician to perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment. Travel to customer locations is required to provide over‑the‑road support and diagnosis, with strict adherence to safety rules and company policies.

The role requires maintaining repair orders, documenting troubleshooting steps, and ensuring warranty parts are properly handled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Trade school degree or certificate preferred.
• Class A CDL required or ability to obtain.
• Motor Vehicle Record must meet guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty truck equipment; test to verify repairs.
• Travel to customer locations to perform repairs and provide over‑the‑road assistance.
• Follow safety rules and company policies at all times.
• Inform Service Manager about unavailable parts.
• Download and save diagnostic data and engine files using Paccar Solutions/Decisiv.
• Close repair orders within 10 days and limit lag to 3 days.
• Document all troubleshooting steps and repair results.
• Save warrantable parts; label, box and return to correct location.
• Maintain 85% efficiency and 90% productivity.
• Maintain Peterbilt online training at 95% completion.
• Possess or obtain Class A CDL and retain.
• Maintain company vehicle and stock required tools/parts for off-site repairs.

Job description

The Larson Group Peterbilt is looking for an experienced Mobile Diesel Service Technician to join our dynamic team. The Mobile Diesel Service Technician performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair mechanic under minimal supervision. This position is specifically responsible for assisting customers with repairs and diagnosis over the road within the assigned region. Travel will be required.

Responsibilities:

• Performs diagnostic/mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components. Testing when completed to ensure repairs are completed properly.
• Travels to customer locations to perform repairs. Provides over-the-road assistance and diagnosis.
• Follow safety rules and company policies always.
• Communicate with Service Manager regarding parts that are not available for repairs.
• Download and save Paccar Solutions/Decisiv: all pictures, engine files (before and after repair), and diagnostic test used to perform repair.
• Maintain repair order closure rate of under 10 days and 3-day lag.
• Record in detail, the description of all trouble shooting steps and results of repairs made and any other information about the repair.
• Save all warrantable parts. Tag, wash, box, and turn into correct location. Labels the box with repair oder number, S/N, customer name and date.
• Maintain a 85% efficiency and a 90% on productivity.
• Maintain Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
• Obtain class A or B CDL and retain during employment.
• Responsible for maintaining company vehicle. Ensures vehicle is stocked with required tools and parts for off-site repairs.

Qualifications:

• Should possess a High School diploma.
• A college degree or a certificate or degree from a trade school is preferred, but not required.
• Experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
• Motor Vehicle Record must adhere to TLG MVR guidelines.
