Job summary

Mrtruckinc is seeking a Diesel Service Tech to perform oil changes, preventative maintenance, filter changes and lube changes for trucks and trailers. You will inspect equipment, prioritize workload, and keep the shop area, including tires, organized and clean.

The role requires strong knowledge of diesel engines and brake systems, the ability to read and follow safety policies, and the capability to work in all weather conditions both in a shop and outside.

Qualifications

  • Must pass a valid pre-employment drug test.
  • Able to regularly lift 85 lbs.
  • General knowledge of diesel engines, brake systems, and transmission services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written format and oral communications.
  • Must be willing to learn and abide by applicable safety laws/rules.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Must have the ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform oil changes, preventative maintenance, filter changes and lubrication.
  • Inspect trucks/trailers for damage and schedule oil changes by mileage.
  • Organize and clean shop area and maintain tires.
  • Maintain and stock tires and other parts as needed.
  • Inspect brakes and replace as needed; perform vehicle repairs (engine, drive train, electrical, belts, pumps, A/C).
  • Mount/dismount tires.
  • Work takes place in a shop and outside; able to work in all weather conditions.

Description

The Diesel Service Tech will be doing oil changes, preventative maintenance, filter changes and lube changes.

  • Inspect trucks/trailers for damage
  • Prioritize workload
  • Organize and clean shop area including restroom
  • Maintain and stock tires
  • Schedule oil changes according to mileage
  • Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles including changing filters, checking and topping off fluids, etc…
  • Inspect brakes and replace as needed
  • Conduct vehicle repairs including but not limited to engine, drive train, electrical, belts, pumps and A/C work
  • Mount/Dismount tires
  • Work takes place in a shop as well as outside
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a CDL is preferred
