Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine service on diesel engines, trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel-system problems.
  • Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering components, suspension systems, cooling systems, and other mechanical components.
  • Inspect equipment to identify worn, damaged, or unsafe parts and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment using diagnostic tools, service manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, fluid checks, and other scheduled maintenance.
  • Service and repair air brake and hydraulic brake systems.
  • Inspect and repair electrical systems, including batteries, starters, alternators, lighting, and wiring.
  • Perform repairs on trailers, including brakes, suspension, landing gear, lights, and related components.
  • Conduct pre-service and post-repair inspections to verify equipment is safe and operating properly.
  • Complete work orders and accurately document inspections, repairs, parts used, and labor performed.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs when required.
  • Follow OSHA requirements, company safety policies, environmental procedures, and applicable DOT regulations.
  • Communicate equipment conditions, repair needs, and maintenance recommendations to supervisors and operations personnel.
  • Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
