Job summary

Hub Group is seeking a seasoned diesel mechanic in the Harrisburg area to perform comprehensive maintenance and repair on tractors and trailers. You will diagnose engines, transmissions, electrical and HVAC systems, and ensure DOT compliance while mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

4 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Vocational / Technical certification preferred.
Demonstrated customer service and relationship building skills.
Expert understanding of fleet maintenance policies, DOT standards and industry practices.
Proficiency with tools and diagnostics.
Must have own tools (hand and pneumatic).

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on truck and trailing equipment.
Repair and diagnose diesel engines, power train including differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, wheel ends.
Perform mechanical reconditioning of equipment for trade-ins and prep new equipment for delivery.
Ensure DOT compliance and document work completed.
Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs.
Mentor other technicians and provide repair instructions.
