Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, is the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.

We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic located in Vega, Texas to perform fixed plant repairs, recommend plant improvements, diagnose and repair mobile heavy equipment (e.g., Komatsu & Caterpillar), and assist with various production duties as needed. The successful candidate will have strong background in welding, fabrication, and fixed plant repair work, and a strong commitment to safety excellence. Experience in millwright-type work – metal fabrication, cutting, and machinery repair – is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Routine vehicle and equipment maintenance
• Inspecting and diagnosing issues with diesel engines
• Reading and interpreting diagnostic test results
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Repairing or replacing malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment
• Testing the functionality of repaired machines
• Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and engines for damage and wear
• Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
• Ordering and sourcing parts as required
• Operating equipment
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence
• Previous fixed plant maintenance or related industry experience
• Experience fabricating, cutting, fitting, and welding is preferred
• Mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed
• Experience working with crushers, conveyors and screens is preferred but not required
• Previous mining/quarry/maintenance experience preferred but not required
• Self‑motivated individual, able to perform duties independently without constant supervision
• Flexible on working hours and locations with ability to adapt to different work environments
• May be called upon at management discretion to perform any other duties assigned and/or assist other areas as necessary
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary
• Willing to work outside in a variety of conditions
• Valid driver’s license with clean motor‑vehicle record
• Must pass pre‑employment drug screening
