Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Illinois is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to service the waste management fleet. The position starts at $25-$30 per hour, with higher pay based on experience and certifications.

The role promises stable, year‑round work with consistent hours. Two shift options are available: 4:00 am–1:30 pm and 8:30 am–6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime after 40 hours. Benefits include PTO, tool allowances, boot reimbursement, health benefits after 60 days, and 401K after 6

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
