Job summary

GFL - Sewer Technologies Division is seeking an entry-level Mechanic C responsible for inspection and maintenance of trucks. You will assist with brake systems, engines, emissions and steering components, and participate in safety inspections under supervision.

You will perform routine PM tasks, test drives, and complete work orders, while learning diagnostic software and safe operating procedures. CDL/A or B preferred with ASE credentials advantageous.

Qualifications

• Entry-level knowledge/experience of at least 1+ years.
• Willingness to learn more complex diagnostic and repair process.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related state and federal regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization and communicate with customers and external vendors.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
• Experience using diagnostic software is preferred. Must be computer literate and willing and able to be trained in software systems.
• ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist inspection of brake systems, engine components, emission systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other parts.
• Perform preventative maintenance including tire, oil and brake changes.
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Under supervision, perform DOT, PM, brake and safety inspections on all vehicles.
• Complete work orders, order parts and perform other administrative duties daily.
• Maintain a clean work area and ensure safety regulations are followed.
