Diesel Mechanic Trainee / Fleet Technician Trainee
Reyes Fleet Management is seeking 2 Diesel Mechanic Trainees/Fleet Technician Trainees to focus on the PM services and driver write-up repairs of our tractors and trailers at our Martin Brower shop in Enfield, CT. Responsibilities and more involved repairs will change as the Trainee progresses.
Shift: Full-Time l Sunday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Friday from 2:00pm-12:30am OR Sunday-Thursday or Monday-Friday from 4:00pm-12:30am
Pay: $23.00-$25.00/HR based on experience and qualifications

Position Responsibilities:
- Primarily focuses on the preventative maintenance of the Fleet and Material Handling equipment of the Reyes Family of Businesses, as well as assists in the repair and diagnosis of various truck, trailer, and Material Handling equipment
- Complete necessary documentation for repairs and maintenance while maintaining accurate records of work performed, parts used, and repairs/inspections completed
- Learn and assist diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals
- Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal policies and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
- This position requires driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management, and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The Driver Qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and be subject to an FMCSA Clearinghouse review
- This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Employees must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others

Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED with 1+ related experience
- You must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with DOT regulations
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push, and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Technical School Diploma or Certification
