Duties & Responsibilities

1. Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including steering, electrical, cooling, lubrication, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering, clutches, transmissions, engines, and related components, in compliance with all relevant guidelines. Test-drive vehicles to ensure repairs are effective.
2. Arrange for and obtain inspections and approvals for major repairs before releasing vehicles from the maintenance facility.
3. Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment, adhering to all safety guidelines.
4. Identify and report additional maintenance or repairs needed during assigned tasks, including those requiring higher qualification levels.
5. Record time, parts used, and repairs performed accurately.
6. Perform road calls and on-site repairs as assigned.
7. Report unsafe conditions or vehicle abuse to Lead Technician.
8. Uphold high ethical standards and integrity; report suspicious or inappropriate behavior.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. 2 to 4 years of medium/heavy truck fleet mechanic experience.
2. Skills in diagnostics, electrical systems, and air conditioning are required.
3. Knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment.
4. Experience with diesel and gasoline systems in fleet vehicles.
5. Possession of the recommended minimum hand tools for a Diesel Technician.
6. Good judgment and decision-making skills.
7. Valid applicable state license (CDL preferred). The company offers free training for mechanics.
8. ASE certification is desirable but not mandatory.
