Job summary

Fraley & Schilling (Maintenance) seeks a skilled diesel technician with extensive experience to service and repair heavy trucks in our fleet maintenance shop. You will diagnose and fix engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems and APUs, and perform essential DOT inspections.

Candidate should have 5+ years of verifiable experience, proficiency with major diagnostic tools, welding ability, and a valid driver's license. CDL is a plus. We offer hands-on work and steady hours in Indiana.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of verifiable commercial diesel fleet maintenance experience.
• Proficiency with Cummins INSIGHT, DiagnosticLink, DAVIE, Wabco, or Bendix.
• Diagnose, overhaul and repair major heavy truck systems (engines, transmissions, air brakes, suspensions, APUs).
• Trailer repair skills: Conestoga tarp systems, crossmember replacement, bogie repairs, dolly legs, doors.
• Welding ability on steel and aluminum.
• PM services and federal DOT vehicle inspections.
• Safe operation of forklifts, shop cranes and heavy service equipment.
• Associate degree or diploma in diesel technology preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred for road tests.

5+ Years of Verifiable Commercial Diesel Fleet Maintenance Experience REQUIRED

Proficiency with Diagnostic Programs (Cummins INSIGHT, DiagnosticLink, DAVIE, Wabco, or Bendix) REQUIRED

• Proven ability to diagnose, overhaul, and repair major heavy truck systems: diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, electrical/charging, cooling, air brakes, suspensions, steering, and APUs
• Practical trailer repair skills, including Conestoga rolling tarp systems, crossmember replacement, bogie repairs, dolly legs, and trailer doors
• Demonstrated welding ability on both steel and aluminum
• Current capability to perform comprehensive preventative maintenance (PM) services and federal DOT vehicle inspections
• Safe operational skills for forklifts, shop cranes, and heavy service equipment
• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited diesel technical school preferred
• Valid driver's license required; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred for vehicle road tests
