Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Diesel Mechanic in Berlin, CT. The Diesel Technician/Mechanic is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of medium to heavy duty fleet vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation. The position requires proficiency in heavy-duty diesel engine diagnosis and repair, understanding of fleet maintenance operations, electrical systems, preventative maintenance, and DOT inspections.

Compensation

$33 - $43 Hourly Pay, Depending on Experience - Paid weekly, every Friday!

Shift

Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Role Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle records manually and electronically
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty vehicles
• Conduct safety inspections and document findings
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies
• Inspect and work on vehicle undercarriage
• Handle parts movement and installation
• Communicate with clients via email or phone as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years’ vehicle maintenance experience or auto/diesel technology diploma
• Commercial Driver’s License class “A” or “B” preferred
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
• Owns and maintains personal hand tools & toolbox
• Knowledge of hand-held scan tools and diagnostics
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
• Strong communication skills
